Each year, hubby and I try to take a trip somewhere we have never been, then take off with the kids somewhere fun. We've seen some amazing sights, done some fun things and, despite our very different attitudes toward travel, we generally have a good time. In the past few years we've been to some exciting places. I'm hoping this year will bring even more memorable experiences.
Travel is one of those great things that can be done at a moments notice, or after months of planning. It can mean saving up for a year, or taking off with five bucks in your pocket. I guess it all depends on how broadly you define travel, but some of the best adventures are just outside your front yard.
Of course, I'm always looking for new places to visit. Tell me about your favourite place to go, or your most memorable trip.

Shave for the Brave Update
Two months from today I will be taking part in the Shave for the Brave to support YACC and I have already reached 59% of my $2000 goal! Thank you so much to everyone who has donated or spread the word about my upcoming baldness. Your generosity means so much.
Great shots... I Love Fogo
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of going to new places. We did that when the kids were at home, but now we tend to go to the tried and true, although each time we go we try to visit new sites.
ReplyDeleteNever even heard of Fogo before today! Thank you.
Yay for Fogo! A well-deserved addition to the list. We spent too much on our holiday last year and won't be going away this year (or next). Hmmm...perhaps I can still get away to somewhere exotic by hiding in Laurita's largest suitcase...
ReplyDeleteWhere are you going? May I suggest Newfoundland? I went there last year and I met some tremendous people and the scenery was simply fabulous. You must try it sometime!
ReplyDeleteAlan - that's a great idea, the suitcase thing... for me, though, Laurita is going to need a bigger suitcase.
ReplyDelete1. Do you guys ever sit still?
ReplyDelete2. Fogo? I go!
3. Me thinks then you should shave 59% of your head NOW!!
Oh, no question...you should go to New England! Side trips to Boston and NYC, winding roads lined with stone walls, historical sites, wacky accents and crazy weather! (Of course, this is a totally selfless promotion and has nothing to do with the fact that I am also located in New England -- Maybe.)
ReplyDeleteI would love to visit Fogo! And go kayaking with you. All that beautiful water and rock.
ReplyDeleteBless you for your brave ambitions...do post pics!
I love yuor thuoghts and way of life. Fogo suonds like the way to go! The pictures aer gorgeous. I wuold love to visit the Gotca falls in Peru. Lots of history, hiking, and beauty.
ReplyDeleteSuperstar for meeting half yuor goal for a headshave.
It looks like a heck of a view. Why is it your favorite place on earth, though? The people there?
ReplyDeletemy favorite place on Earth: Canyonlands in Utah. like the landscape of a road runner cartoon. otherworldly.
ReplyDeleteSands Dunes Nat'l Park here in CO is a close second, but only when the stream is flowing - April through June or so.
