About Calling Shotgun

As my good friend Erin Cole said, the passenger seat is the writer’s seat.

Some people like to take control and drive along life’s highway. I just want to call shotgun. I want to see the world as it goes by. I want to look down all the alleyways and side streets, watch all the people.
I want to see everything.

The rules for Calling Shotgun:
  1. You must be outdoors to call shotgun
  2. You must be within sight of the vehicle in question to call shotgun
  3. You must use the exact phrase “I call shotgun!”
  4. You must only call shotgun on preparing to enter the vehicle. (example: you cannot call shotgun at 9:00 for an outing at 4:00)
Come along with me. It’ll be a great trip.

I call shotgun.
